Two brothers were arrested on Wednesday, August 5, for attempting to commit armed robbery at Petro Plus on Memorial Boulevard in the early morning hours. The Picayune Police Department received an alert about the armed robbery, which involved a knife, at 12:05 a.m. The suspects were identified as Rickey Smith Jr. and James Smith, but they had fled the scene by the time officers arrived. Rickey was charged with armed robbery and conspiracy. James was charged with conspiracy to commit a crime, aggravated assault, and armed robbery.
