Patchbay Band, one of Ghana's most celebrated live music ensembles, will feature on E Vibes this August, sharing the story behind their remarkable journey and contributions to Ghana's music industry. Like a patchbay in a recording studio that connects different instruments, hardware and signals into one unified sound, Patchbay Band has become a musical connector in its own right. Formed in 2008 by bassist and music director Philip Acquah, the Accra-based band is renowned for blending traditional Ghanaian highlife with jazz, blues and indie rock. E Vibes, the JoyNews programme that delves into the backgrounds of celebrated personalities excelling in their chosen fields, is focusing this season on music bands in Ghana. The show takes viewers through the defining moments of each band's rise, with the hope that their inspiring stories will preserve Ghana's musical heritage and motivate the next generation.
