Kenneth Adjei embraces new defence role, pledges ‘renewed energy’

Newly appointed Minister of Defence Kenneth Gilbert Adjei has pledged to approach his new assignment with renewed energy and a deep sense of duty, following his move from the Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources.
“As I take on my new responsibility at the Ministry of Defence, I do so with humility, renewed energy and a deep sense of duty.
The new defence minister also thanked Ghanaians for their support, goodwill and prayers, saying their encouragement remained an important source of strength in public service.
His appointment marks a return to the defence ministry for the minister, who previously served as deputy minister of defence between 2015 and 2017 under the first Mahama administration.
He was appointed minister for works, housing and water resources in 2025 and had been involved in government programmes covering infrastructure, housing and water resources.
