Betfred, which operates multiple branches across Suffolk, is planning to shut around 130 stores nationwide from September.
The closures could affect staff in Suffolk locations including Lowestoft, Felixstowe, Stowmarket, Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket, and Haverhill.
The company has said higher taxes are among the reason for the upcoming closures.
Founded in 1967 by brothers Fred and Peter Done, Betfred has grown to become one of the UK’s largest bookmakers.
The company has not yet confirmed which stores will be affected by the closures.
