Weatherford, TexasThe historic small town of Weatherford is about 30 minutes west of Fort Worth and was the filming site for some of the most critical scenes in the series. The new Dutton Ranch where Beth and Rip settle was filmed near the town at a sixth-generation ranch run by the same family since 1934. Other scenes from the show were also shot in the town of Weatherford, including some of the wide shots of cattle and land. There is also a scene from episode six, in which Oreana and Carter are out fishing on a boat having a heart-to-heart.
