Global Ore Ghana Limited calls for investigations into mayhem in their concessionSome individuals living in and around the Aboso-Bompieso mining concession of Global (Ghana) Ore Industries Limited have reportedly interfered in the operations of the company.
The individuals allegedly prevented company officials and workers from accessing their legally acquired concession.
Mr Prosper Makafui Agbetoh, the Community Relations Officer told the Ghana News Agency that the thugs forced workers to leave the site and allegedly vandalised company’s vehicle during the incident.
The government had approved Global (Ghana) Ore Industries Limited to operate the Aboso-Bompieso mining concession after the transfer of the mining lease from Adudanfed Company Limited.
Also, Ghana’s Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29), prohibits unlawful obstruction, intimidation, assault, or causing damage to property.
