The Royal Agricultural University (RAU) has opened applications for the third year of its Farm491 Challenge Prize, which focuses on mixed land use. The contest, backed by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, offers a £40,000 cash prize for the winner and £20,000 for the runner-up, plus 12 months of mentoring and business support from the university’s Farm491 innovation hub. “Through the Farm491 Challenge Prize, we are bringing together innovators, researchers, and industry to develop practical solutions that support productive, resilient and sustainable farming systems for the future. “Through the Farm491 Challenge Prize, we are bringing together innovators, researchers and industry to develop practical solutions that support productive, resilient and sustainable farming systems for the future.” The final judging and awards event will take place at Farm491, on the RAU campus, on Friday, November 27.
