Cotswold District Council has opened its latest Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funding round, inviting applications for larger strategic infrastructure schemes that will benefit residents as the district grows. Cllr Juliet Layton, cabinet member for housing and planning, said the levy was playing an increasingly important role in upgrading local infrastructure. “Community Infrastructure Levy funding plays an important role in helping us invest in the facilities, spaces and infrastructure that communities need as our district grows,” she said. While this round focuses on larger district-wide projects, groups with smaller local schemes may be able to apply through neighbourhood CIL funding where available, or via the separate Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspaces (SANG) fund for certain green space projects. Guidance and forms are available at via the Cotswold District Council website.
