The KTM rider had earlier featured prominently during the time attack and his 1m57.363s proved just enough for tenth, 0.229s ahead of Tech3 rider Enea Bastianini. Qualifying will determine the grid on Saturday before the ten-lap British MotoGP Sprint gets underway at 1600 local time. Returning Intact GP rider David Almansa was a strong sixth on 2m09.804s after missing Sachsenring through illness. That leaves several established names facing Q1, including German GP podium finisher Matteo Bertelle in 15th, Czech GP winner Hakim Danish in 16th, Kelso in 18th and COTA winner Guido Pini in 23rd.
