Shibley operated the camp alongside Harvey Kulchin, a longtime physical education teacher who helped shape the camp’s programming for many years. Levine has spent nearly his entire career working in summer camps, beginning in 1995 at Long Island’s Rolling River Day Camp. “Shibley has always been a nurturing, down-to-earth environment with a very relaxed vibe and feel,” Levine said. This summer, Shibley welcomed between 900 and 1,000 campers, with approximately 700 to 900 attending on a typical day. For Levine, the most meaningful part of Shibley is seeing families discover a place where their children feel comfortable and supported.
