Born Karen Brenda Ross on Aug. 22, 1942, in Brooklyn, Levine lived a life centered around family, compassion and service. “She taught me the love of the work she did for the Working Organization for Retarded Children,” Marc Levine said. Beyond her advocacy work, Levine was known throughout the community for making everyone feel welcome. “To just constantly be nice to others, to always have a kind word for others, to just pay it forward,” Marc Levine said. Levine is survived by her children, Marc Levine, Brett Levine and his wife, Rachel, Brooke Freeman and her husband, Eric and her grandchildren, Alex, Carly, Jackson and Ryder.
