Port Washington Little League champions honored with pep rally ahead of Metro Regionals

Port Washington Youth Activities hosted a pep rally for the state championship-winning 12U Little League All-Star team ahead of the Metro Regionals beginning on Saturday, Aug. 8.
PYA Executive Director Drina Schreiber said that although the boys have each other, last night’s pep rally was an effort to show the team that the entire Port Washington community supports them.
The Port Washington boys will play Rhode Island.
The All-Star team won the New York State Championship last Friday for the first time in PYA’s 63-year history.
Lions Field 2 was filled with families, friends, Port Washington High School baseball players and community members, including Kari Catuogno, one of the players’ mothers.
