“Today is day 12,” Madras’ new city administrator told the Pioneer on Aug. 8. While the mayor and city council set policy, it’s the city administrator’s job to manage day-to-day city operations, overseeing city projects on everything from the police department to the airport. Earlier this week, Madras City Councilor Mike Seibold resigned, effective immediately, after previously considering a run for mayor. The city has held off its search for a permanent police chief until it filled its city administrator position. “I am excited to see the new city administrator help us get a lot of the important positions that are vacant filled and making the city of Madras whole again,” said city councilor Pamela Thomas.
