The stars will position MetroPlusHealth, a subsidiary of NYC Health and Hospitals, to be awarded additional funding through the Medicare Advantage quality bonus program established by the Affordable Care Act.
President and CEO of MetroPlusHealth Dr. Talya Schwartz said in a statement that the ratings boost was a “significant achievement.”
CMS assigns Medicare Advantage plans star ratings on a five-star scale based on measures including quality of care, member experience and health plan performance.
