Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Nasir Idris, has applauded the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, for promptly responding to the security needs of Kebbi State through the deployment of additional troops to Yauri. Speaking during an inspection visit to the soldiers, Governor Idris described the reinforcement as timely and strategic in strengthening ongoing efforts to eliminate banditry and restore lasting peace across Yauri, Shanga, Ngaski and neighbouring communities. He stated that nearby Fakai Local Government Area also shares a boundary with Sokoto State, while Kebbi State has an international border with the Republic of Benin, making the area particularly vulnerable to criminal activities. Governor Idris assured the troops that the Kebbi State Government would continue to provide all necessary support to facilitate their operations, stressing that security is a collective responsibility that requires close collaboration between the Federal and State Governments. The Governor urged the troops to intensify the fight against bandits and other criminal elements, expressing confidence in the professionalism, courage and operational capacity of the Nigerian Army.
