(Beaver County, UT) — State and federal officials are launching an 18-million-dollar recovery effort following the destructive Cottonwood Fire in Beaver County. Governor Spencer Cox toured the burn area yesterday after the fire scorched more than 97-thousand acres, destroyed more than 150 structures and contributed to flooding that damaged homes and infrastructure. The U.S. Forest Service is providing nine-point-two-million-dollars, with Utah matching the federal investment. Officials say the money will help repair infrastructure, stabilize burned areas and reduce the risk of future flooding and erosion.
