In an effort to draw more foot traffic downtown, the Milan Downtown Development Authority is starting a new weekly event featuring rotating food trucks. The Milan City Council approved a $500 special event request Aug. 3 allowing up to two food trucks to operate each Sunday from Aug. 9 through Dec. 27. “On Sundays, there’s not a coffee option for downtown shoppers, which in the past has impacted customers for other businesses,” said Downtown Development Authority Executive Director Jes Meingasner. Caffeine & Crumbs will kick off Sundays on Main at 11 a.m. on Aug. 9. “We’re going to ride it for as long as we have trucks,” Meingasner said.
