Traffic was snarled during the morning rush on Friday after a tractor-trailer burst into flames on the Queens approach to the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge at around 8:15 a.m.
Responding FDNY units found the 18-wheeler fully engulfed in flames and traffic on all Manhattan-bound and Brooklyn-bound lanes were closed to vehicular traffic as firefighters worked to extinguish the flames.
The driver was not injured.
All lanes on the bridge were reopened at around 9:30 a.m. with residual delays, according to Notify NYC.
FDNY fire marshals will determine the cause of the blaze.
