The people of West Des Moines are used to having it with the frozen veggies, Chau explained.
Oftentimes, their loved ones would insist they sell the dishes at Shang Yuen, one of Des Moines’ first Asian restaurants.
Their Kung Pao chicken quickly became a staple in Des Moines resident John Dana Custis’ diet.
“I want to introduce different cultures and traditions [to West Des Moines],” Chau said.
