35-year-old Kawika Alika Ah Nee of Mountain View was arrested and charged in relation to an August 4 firearms incident that occurred in front of a Livingston subdivision residence in Mountain View. Yesterday afternoon, Ah Nee made his initial appearance in Hilo District Court where his was maintained at $1,753,000, and he was ordered to appear for a preliminary hearing on August 10. As the Complaint alleges, Ah Nee is charged with Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Separate Felony, and Place to Keep Ammunition. Attempted Murder in the Second Degree carries a penalty of life in prison with the possibility of parole. Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Separate Felony is a class A felony and carries a penalty of a twenty-year prison term.
