Chile first announced a roadmap to restore consular ties on July 30, signaling its intention to rebuild diplomatic channels with Caracas after relations were suspended in 2024 amid political disagreements. Although the reopening of consular relations does not necessarily mean a full restoration of diplomatic ties, it is considered an important step toward improving communication between the two governments.
