(ABC 6 News) – Work is now underway to restore the Rochester Public Utilities water tower near Apache Mall. RPU announced Friday that crews have begun preparing the tower for repairs and repainting as part of a restoration project designed to extend the life of the structure and improve its safety. The project includes repainting the water tower inside and out, completing structural and concrete repairs, replacing aging components and upgrading safety features. According to RPU, the work is expected to be completed by Nov. 1. The utility says the restoration is part of its ongoing investment in Rochester’s water infrastructure to help ensure the system remains safe, reliable and ready to serve the community for years to come.
