Future City Police order faster investigation of criminal cases, tougher action against cybercrime

Hyderabad: Future City Police have directed all police stations in the Maheshwaram Zone to fast-track pending criminal cases, strengthen CCTV surveillance and intensify action against cybercrime, drug offences, POCSO cases and habitual offenders as part of a renewed crime control drive.
The directions were issued by Maheshwaram Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) K Narayana Reddy, IPS, during the Monthly Crime Review Meeting held at the Maheshwaram DCP Office under the Future City Commissionerate on Friday.
Focus on serious and pending casesDuring the review, the DCP conducted a comprehensive assessment of pending investigations, with special attention to grave undetected (UI) cases, SC/ST Act cases, Preventive Detention (PD) Act cases, POCSO cases, NDPS cases, cybercrime cases and other important criminal investigations.
Faster investigations, timely chargesheetsThe DCP instructed all Station House Officers (SHOs) to ensure speedy investigations and timely filing of chargesheets.
Visible policing to be strengthenedEmphasising proactive policing, K Narayana Reddy asked officers to strengthen visible policing across the Maheshwaram Zone to deter crime and maintain law and order.
