Major estate planned by Fermanagh property developer
['Annie Flynn']
The Fermanagh Herald
A LEADING Fermanagh businessman is preparing to submit plans for a major new housing development in Donegal Town, with proposals for more than 200 new homes.
Property developer David Mahon, through his company David Mahon Properties Ltd, is seeking planning permission from Donegal County Council for a 228-unit residential scheme at the Glebe and Raforker townlands.
The large-scale development has been designed by William Donoghue Associates and will include a mix of houses and apartments, as well as retail space, a crèche and landscaped public open areas.
The application will be submitted under Ireland’s Large-scale Residential Development (LRD) planning process, which is used for major housing schemes and allows local authorities to assess significant residential projects.
His property interests also include the Crumlin Road Courthouse and several shopping centres in both Ireland and Britain.
