Russian attacks against Ukraine on Aug. 7 targeted critical energy sites operated by state oil and gas company Naftogaz, shutting down production at several facilities, the firm reported. Seven Ukrnafta facilities in eastern Ukraine were hit overnight. "Tonight, the most massive shelling of Ukrnafta facilities in recent times took place." Russia targeted facilities that ensure the production of oil and gas in eastern Ukraine, Naftogaz reported. During the day on Aug. 7, Russia continued assaulting Ukraine's energy infrastructure, hitting four Ukrnafta gas stations in Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts.
