It came as quite a surprise to many when Robert Pattinson was announced as Chris Hansen, the Dateline NBC correspondent who launched To Catch a Predator, in A24's Primetime. Yet the actual story and people behind the movie, arriving September 25, won't be able to compete with Predators, now streaming on Paramount+. Another challenge to Hansen's legacy is with those who worked on the original show, with two decoys interviewed about their lasting trauma. Osit frames all of this as exploitation, and it builds to an interview with Hansen himself. It is also a burden Primetime cannot show you, because Pattinson will be playing a character, and the children Hansen set out to protect were never that.
