The Nevada Division of State Parks opened public voting this week to select an official name for its newest state park, a 1,627-acre property along the Carson River corridor. The five finalist names are Carson River Ranches State Park, Cottonwood Trails State Park, Crossroads Canyon State Park, Heritage Canyon State Park and River’s Edge State Park. “The response to this naming campaign has been impressive,” Nevada State Parks Administrator Jonathan Brunjes said. We hope everyone will cast a vote and help choose the official name for Nevada’s newest state park.” Joe Lombardo plans to announce the winning name at the park’s official designation ceremony later this fall.
