I wanted to use a security camera for another project, but I didn't have one spare. Instead, I used a free app to turn my old Samsung Galaxy S8 into a dedicated smart camera. The problem was that I needed a security camera to set this up. The best part is that the camera on the Samsung Galaxy S8 is far better quality than the cheap security camera I would have bought instead. By repurposing an old phone, I saved myself from having to buy a new security camera, and we always know when Mr. Nibbles is up and ready to play.
