It is a significant change, and the great thing about it is that nearly 55,000 Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers helped shape uniforms that are more practical, affordable and inclusive. Girlguiding UK is also encouraging girls to create something new from the old, by upcycling current uniforms into new accessories! Seeing the new uniforms made me think about my late aunt, who died at the age of 100 last year. Flicking through I came across a press cutting about me and other St James Guides receiving our Queen’s Guide Awards. I can still remember turning up each week, meeting friends and looking forward to whatever challenge or activity had been planned.
