It was for a site at the Village Field, south of Rectory Road in Castle Carrock, and planning permission, subject to conditions, was approved on Thursday (August 6). According to the officer’s report the site comprises an area on the western side of Castle Carrock. “The northern part of the western boundary of the site is bound by an estate style metal fence with the remainder of the western boundary formed by a native hawthorn hedge. The report states that the play area with various pieces of equipment is proposed towards the eastern side of the site within the manicured grassland. According to a separate planning report the parish of Castle Carrock and Geltsdale has a population of 318, as of the 2021 census with 60 individuals under the age of 18 with 43 children attending the primary school in the village.
