Natanya Ratnaraj, who has completed her first year studying psychology at the University of Chester, originally achieved the grades for her initial university choices but opted for a different path. She said: "Before going into Clearing, I was quite confused about it, I was nervous, I wasn't 100% sure what to do. "I dialled the number and they just talk you through everything step by step – it was quite calm. Ms Ratnaraj also praised the friendly atmosphere and tight-knit community at both the University and the city of Chester, and regular meetings with her personal academic tutor. Clearing is a UCAS-operated system used by UK universities to fill remaining course places at the end of the academic year.
