Two Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service engines from Crewe and Congleton were sent to Lawton Road in Alsager at around 6.50am on Friday. A spokesman for the service confirmed that action was required which led to a road closure. They said: “Firefighters were called to reports of an electrical pylon on fire in Alsager. “Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel to ensure the fire was fully extinguished and cool the surrounding area. “The road was closed while the incident was dealt with.”
