Mark Bjelland, 34, of Barton Road in Clutton, pleaded guilty to driving while above the legal limit at Chester Magistrates Court on Friday.
He was arrested and gave a reading of 59mcg per 100ml of breath while Mr Baker added that Bjelland did not have any previous convictions.
However, he added that the incident was aggravated by the defendant’s involvement in an accident.
He said: “He was driving a short distance from a heavy night the night before but had no reason to believe he was over the limit.
“A disqualification is going to cause him real difficulty for his job as a stablehand in the area.”
