Lyon College recognized some of the region’s most talented young artists during a reception and awards presentation for the fourth annual Batesville Area Young Artists Exhibition on Friday, July 31, in Kresge Gallery on the Lyon College campus. Landry Martin of Southside High School earned first place and a $300 award for “Persistence of Mask and Madness.” Lexi Bledsoe of Batesville High School received second place and a $200 award for “Female Gaze.” “The Batesville Area Young Artists Exhibition celebrates their accomplishments and gives them the opportunity to see their artwork displayed in a professional gallery setting. The public is invited to a reception Friday, Aug. 14, from 5 to 7 p.m., to meet the young artists and celebrate their creativity and accomplishments.
