This academic year will be different for Frederick Douglass High School students. Students will be the first to learn inside the renovated high school after construction that began in 2024 wrapped up this month. The $118 million renovation gives both Frederick Douglass High School and Joseph C. Briscoe Academy modern facilities to learn under one roof. The high school was founded in 1883 and is one of the nation’s oldest public high schools.
