Alan Reid, of Maritime Close, Newton-le-Willows, is due before Liverpool, Knowsley, and St Helens Magistrates’ Court today, Friday. The charges relate to an alleged incident in Newton-le-Willows on Wednesday, August 5. He also faces a charge relating to an allegation of stalking involving fear of violence. The 62-year-old is due to make a first appearance before the magistrates' court today. It is alleged that Reid possessed a curved sword with a 55cm blade at an address on Maritime Close.
