Merseyside Police said the 14-year-old boy was detained on Thursday, August 6 in connection with an incident in Whiston involving a scooter with three riders. Officers on proactive patrol spotted the moped on Pennywood, Whiston, and later traced it to a garden in Rainhill with the help of the force’s drone team. A 14-year-old boy from Rainhill was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods, using a motor vehicle on a road/public place without third party insurance, and driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence. Superintendent Paul Holden, Knowsley BCU Commander, said: "I hope this incident demonstrates our determination to keep our communities safe by disrupting anyone whose behaviour risks making people feel frightened and intimidated. The force said it will continue with enforcement activity, high-visibility patrols, and public engagement to keep communities safe.
