The county will face another spell of hot, dry, and sunny weather, with temperatures expected to climb above 30C in some areas this weekend. The Met Office forecast for Santon Downham will reach a high of 24C today, Friday, before increasing to 28C on Saturday and peak at 31C on Sunday. July was also England’s third driest month of any kind on record, behind February 1891 and June 1925. England and Wales both recorded their driest Julys, while southern England experienced its driest month ever recorded. Suffolk County Council said the blaze spread at a "ferocious pace" because of hot weather, prolonged dry conditions, and changing winds, although it is now stable and the affected area has been surrounded.
