The Falcon, in Falcon Street in the town centre, has appeared closed for some weeks but it has since been confirmed by owner Star Pubs that the business is currently not operating. James Langan, the landlord of the Falcon, had admitted to not paying his staff during the cash issues for the pub. The Falcon is owned by Heineken, which manages to the pub under the brand Star Pubs, a spokesperson said: "The Falcon in Ipswich was leased to an independent operator to run as their own business. "They closed the pub without notice. No deadline has been given for the reopening of the pub, which sits at the top of The Saints near the Buttermarket shopping centre.
