Organised by Barrow Business Improvement District, 21 bags of rubbish were collected by volunteers including councillor Andy Coles, community groups and businesses in the area. Volunteers from Poole Townsend, Corrie and Co, Barrow Rising, and Furness Multi-Cultural Community Forum & Youth Club, joined in. A Barrow BID spokesman said: "We organise regular litter picks to bring our community together to keep where we live and work clean and tidy, giving us a town centre to be proud of. "Thanks to the help of everyone who attended today, we managed to clean up the streets for everyone who visits, giving them a great welcome to Barrow town centre."
