The Privatization Commission has received 12 Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for the privatization of Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO), marking the next stage in the government’s plan to privatize power distribution companies.
According to the commission, the EOIs were submitted by investors from Türkiye, China, and several leading Pakistani business groups, reflecting strong interest in the transaction.
The commission said it will now begin the due diligence phase, during which prospective investors will be given access to relevant information before the prequalification and bidding process moves forward.

The government expects the privatization of distribution companies to improve operational efficiency, encourage competition in electricity distribution, modernize power infrastructure, and help reduce electricity tariffs while improving customer services.
