The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), in consultation with Cellular Mobile Operators (CMOs), has revised the eSIM charging framework by capping the maximum initial issuance fee at Rs.
1,500 and allowing subscribers up to 10 free transfers of their eSIM between compatible handsets.
Under the revised policy, subscribers will be able to migrate their eSIMs between compatible devices free of cost for up to 10 transfers, reducing the financial burden on users.
Following consultations with telecom operators, the charging structure has now been formally rationalized to provide greater clarity and improved consumer convenience.
The regulator believes the revised pricing structure will encourage greater use of eSIM-enabled devices, improve customer experience, and support the growth of Pakistan’s digital telecommunications ecosystem.
