Planning permission is to be sought for a 12 metre tall broadband mast on Owey Island.
The application is being made by NBI Infrastructure Designated Activity Company (National Broadband Ireland).
The mast will consist of a 12 metre high timber pole supporting 4 radio-link dishes.
The mast will be encased by a wooden fence with access gate, solar panels, dual bay cabinet, foundation and all associated works.
The development is required to carry the broadband data from the new high speed fibre broadband network on the island to the mainland by radio link.
