The Centre has directed Meta to submit a compliance roadmap with algorithm changes, stronger content moderation and faster coordination to curb deepfakes, propaganda and online misinformation in India. The direction was issued during a meeting between senior government officials and Meta representatives, where the company presented its existing systems for tackling harmful online content.
