The Ministry of Highways is rehabilitating the existing Highway 6 over Barrier River Overflow bridge, located south of Melfort, as part of its ongoing bridge maintenance and preservation program. The Ministry of Highways told SaskToday, the project involves replacing concrete girders and a timber cap, key structural components that support the bridge. The ministry said occasional traffic stoppages of up to one hour may be required to safely complete certain phases of construction.
