World Health Expo Nairobi 2026 to help hospitals navigate Kenya's SHA procurement shift

Source: UGCMore than 31 million Kenyans have registered under SHA since its rollout, with 11,034 health facilities contracted and over KSh 147 billion disbursed in claims from October 2024 to date, according to the Ministry of Health.
Dr Janki Chauhan, Chairperson of MEDAK, said health facilities are under immediate pressure to adapt.
"Healthcare facilities are under immediate pressure to adapt to new reimbursement structures, expanded benefit packages, and digitized claims processing," she said.
Tanzania's pharmaceutical import market, valued at KSh 140 billion (USD 1.08 billion) in 2023, is projected to reach KSh 201 billion (USD 1.55 billion) by 2028, growing at an estimated 7.6% annually.
