MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A fundraiser that aims to support academic programming at Morgantown High School will take place this weekend along the Morgantown’s Wharf District. The 2026 Mohigan 5k will take place on Saturday, August 8, at the Marriott Waterfront in downtown Morgantown with registration scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. ahead of a 10 a.m. race start time. Morgantown High Foundation treasurer Mark Nesselroad encourages those wishing to take part in an early morning run at their own pace with proceeds directly supporting the Morgantown High Foundation. All proceeds will directly support the Morgantown High Foundation’s annual efforts to fund supplies for both students and teachers throughout the school year. “Registration is the day of the event now, on the rail trail behind the Morgantown Marriott Hotel at Waterfront Place,” said Nesselroad.
