Iran and Oman have reached broad consensus on a proposed framework governing the Strait of Hormuz.
According to Iran’s ISNA news agency, the proposed framework awaits approval from the two countries’ senior leadership before it can be formally adopted.
During a televised interview, Hassan Ghashghavi, spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, said discussions between Iran and Oman were in their final stages.
He said that both sides had largely agreed on the overall framework for negotiations regarding the Strait of Hormuz, adding that the matter will now be decided by the highest authorities before the agreement is finalised.
