“BYE BYE” Bomb Attempt: Michigan Duo Charged In Attack On 72-Year-Old Neighbor

A Macomb County couple faces multiple felony charges after allegedly lighting and throwing an explosive device onto their 72-year-old neighbor’s lawn earlier this week, Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced.
Authorities allege that on Monday, Aug. 3, 2026, Megan Showers, 38, lit a cylindrical, red explosive device bearing the words “BYE BYE” while it was held by her husband, Jason Showers, 45.
Jason Showers then allegedly threw the device into the senior neighbor’s yard.
Megan Showers was charged with placing explosives near property and possession of bombs with unlawful intent.
Judge Draper set bond for Jason Showers at $100,000 cash-only.
