(WAKA) – The state’s second Traumatic Brain Injury Center has opened in Opelika, designed especially for veterans and other military personnel. “We’re the first state to offer state traumatic brain injury services and resources free to veterans, guard members, and those living with the long-term effects of brain injury,” she said. The staff will also facilitate coverage for the state’s TBI helpline. ADRS State TBI Program Director April Turner said the ribbon-cutting is the culmination of many long hours of discussions and planning. For years, the ADRS TBI program has provided TBI services for those coming out of acute settings with care coordination, education, and service linkages.
